Frequently Asked Questions

Why do people seek out therapy?
Many people believe that psychotherapy is only for individuals with severe mental illness or diagnosable disorders. Therapists are able to help with varying levels of problems, not just with the extreme. Whether a person is seeking help to cope with the struggles of daily life, would like to build communication skills in relationships, is seeking parenting support, or would like relief from more persistent and extreme psychological conditions, psychotherapy can help provide insight and improve a person’s quality of life.

How often do we meet?
This depends on the goals of the therapy. Typically, sessions are held weekly, but in some cases, we may decide that more or less frequent meetings would better meet your needs.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes for individual therapy and 80 minutes for couple and family therapy.

What are the fees?
We have standard fees for individual, couples, and family therapy. At times, we are able to adjust fees on an individual basis depending on the type of treatment, session frequency, and on the basis of demonstrated financial hardship. Please call us to discuss fees and payment. If we cannot accommodate your financial situation, we will be happy to provide you with an appropriate referral.
